pro ads -- wonder if they read the talking points
Now about 22 relatives of victims came out in support of Bush's campiagn ads with 9/11 backgrounds after Jimmy Boyle, a former president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, heard that the president was being criticized for the ads. Nice of him. He's voting R this November and he's basically saying he's responding for political reasons. No mention who the relatives are (they could be step-sons of their dughter's cousin twice removed from the victim) and no quotes from them -- the reporter should have contacted at least one of the signatories.
Of course this shifts the focus from the real issue -- did the president say he was not going to use the tragedy for political purposes and can the ads be constuted as exploitation.
